Approach
Studio Nigro melds design and performance to help you live well.
This means we work as your partner to create thoughtful, elegant spaces designed to nurture people and our planet. We create healthy, sustainable environments in which you can live, work and play. Together, we craft the settings for everyday moments that will become cherished memories.
Our team starts each project by identifying a shared vision for your new space. We work together to make efficient use of the natural, spatial and financial resources available. By incorporating environmentally friendly solutions, we elevate the design to one that will have a positive impact on the world at large. And we build a collaborative team dedicated to bringing that vision to life in a way that reflects your values and desires.
Leadership
Founded in Chicago in 2006, the Studio is led by award-winning architect Kim Nigro, AIA, LEED AP. A licensed architect in Illinois, Missouri, and Michigan, Kim received her training at Kansas State University, Centro Studi Santa Chiara in Italy, University of Illinois Chicago, and at the American Academy in Rome as recipient of the prestigious Burnham Prize Fellowship in Architecture.
Kim has designed projects ranging from pro-bono office renovations for non-profit organizations to large condo buildings, but her passion is in crafting unique homes for clients and their families. Her extensive professional experience in architecture makes her a strong leader for her practice and for the teams of collaborators she assembles.
In addition to heading up the practice, Kim is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and the US Green Building Council. She is also a volunteer leader for a career camp for girls interested in exploring careers in architecture. Kim has long been an advocate for green residential architecture. Her certification as a LEED AP Homes accredited professional ensures that Studio Nigro is always employing the latest green building technologies for its clients.
